When you create a TheLineCricket account, we collect:

  • Account information: Username, email address, password (encrypted)
  • Profile information: Display name, bio, location, playing role, cricket stats, profile photo
  • Content: Posts, photos, videos, comments, messages you create
  • Match data: Scores, ball-by-ball records, team rosters, match results
  • Verification documents: Aadhaar card photos (submitted voluntarily for identity verification)
  • Usage data: App interactions, device information, IP address

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve TheLineCricket's services
  • To show your profile to other cricketers in the community
  • To deliver match notifications and updates
  • To compute and display cricket statistics
  • To verify your identity (when you opt into Aadhaar verification)
  • To display relevant advertisements
  • To prevent fraud and maintain security

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Other users: Your public profile, posts, and match stats are visible to other TheLineCricket users
  • Service providers: AWS (hosting), Cognito (authentication), Google AdMob (advertising)
  • Legal requirements: When required by Indian law or legal process

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on AWS servers in the Asia Pacific (Mumbai) region. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. Aadhaar documents are stored in encrypted S3 buckets with restricted access.

5. Children's Privacy

TheLineCricket allows parents to create child profiles (under 13) under their household account. Children's profiles are managed by the parent/guardian. We do not collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parental consent.

6. Your Rights

Under applicable Indian data protection laws, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing
  • Data portability (export your data)

7. Content Moderation & Removal

TheLineCricket is a community space for cricketers. To keep it safe and on-topic, we reserve the right to review and remove user-generated content — including posts, photos, videos, comments, page profiles, and uploaded media — that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be inappropriate or in violation of our guidelines. This includes (but isn't limited to):

  • Sexual, violent, or graphic content
  • Harassment, hate speech, or abuse directed at other users
  • Spam, scams, or content posted only to advertise unrelated products
  • Content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademarks
  • Impersonation or fake academy/club/coach pages
  • Personal information of others shared without consent
  • Illegal content or content that promotes illegal activity

When content is removed by our moderation team, both the public copy and the underlying media file (image or video) are deleted from our storage. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly post such content. You can report a post or page to us at report@thelinecricket.com; we aim to review every report within 72 hours. If your content is removed and you believe it was a mistake, please email us at the same address and we'll review.

8. Cookies & Tracking

The TheLineCricket mobile app uses minimal tracking. Our website uses essential cookies for functionality and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use our site. You can opt out of analytics cookies.

9. Advertising

TheLineCricket uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or email.
